OUTSTANDING TECHNOLOGY DESIGNS

The first year of the new specification now over. Both staff and students in the Technology department have battled many challenges through the year which has culminated in the achievement of many successes by our students. Whilst conventional making processes have been encouraged the inclusion of modern technologies has provided greater scope for students’ design realisation. This is evident in the many different forms included in some of the interesting student models shown.

A special mention goes to Matthew Wilkins, whose innovative design clearly demonstrates effective use of Computer Aided Design and Manufacture. Whilst many students have attempted to incorporate CAD/CAM into their controlled assessment, it is hoped that more students will consider this exciting method of design in the future.
