Year 8 Maths Workshop

On Tuesday 18th October, 32 Year 8 students participated in the M&G Enterprise Challenge. This was a Maths based workshop which gave students the opportunity to act as large-scale event organisers in charge of arranging a concert for 10,000 young people.  

Using maths 'by stealth', students analysed the information available to help them make informed decisions about which artists they can afford to hire for the concert and how to arrange the respective stage layouts. As well as the concert, students were asked to consider the event’s catering, staff costs, and much more! This was a great opportunity to apply Maths to a real life context whilst having fun!
