Year 9 Options

The time came for our Year 9 students to make their very important GCSE option choices for next year.  Following many subject information assemblies and to allow parents and students to gain more information about all of the optional subjects for GCSE, on Thursday 24th February, they were invited into school for Year 9 Options’ Evening. We were extremely excited to offer our Year 9s an additional two options this year, these being, Hospitality & Catering and GCSE Statistics. Subject teachers talked through the topics, exams and coursework each subject would involve and answered any questions the parents and students had to enable them to make their choices effectively. It was a really positive evening and great to be able to host this event within school once again.

In addition, two careers advisers from Innervate visited school to deliver options’ workshops to the whole of Year 9 during the school day.   This provided every student in the year group the opportunity to ask questions and seek any further advice with regards to GCSE subjects and career pathways.  The Year 9 students have now made their choices and eagerly await the outcome.
