Year 10 Boys Rugby - SMS Vs Hampton School
On 30th September, Year 10 boys played their first rugby match in almost 2 years! They played against Hampton School in the England Schools Under 15’s Cup. The boys unfortunately lost 40-0, but despite the score line the boys represented the school excellently!
The boys got stuck into Hampton School for 50 minutes, with some excellent defence from Joel Brewer, Billy Drinkwater and Stan Longman to name a few. In attack, Ben Street led the boys well, making sure that the team received some brilliant front football for players such as Lewis Whiteway and Charlie Miller to get us over the gain line.
Five Year 9 boys stepped up to play in the Year 10 team: Logan Groves, Tomasi DruliDruli, Jack Crampton, Shane Rowles and Aakif Anis-Alavi. The coaches at Hampton School mentioned that the boys that stepped up did not look out of place on the field at all.
