Spelthorne Skills & Careers Fair

On Thursday 19th September, thirty Year 10 students headed off to Epsom Race course for the Spelthorne Skills and Careers Fair. This event was designed to help increase students’ understanding of the options available to them at the end of secondary education.  There were over 70 stalls and hands-on activities from all the colleges in Surrey along with many work-based trainers, employers and apprenticeship providers.

The feedback from the students was really positive. They enjoyed gathering lots of information about their options, learning more about different college courses and apprenticeship schemes along with the post-16 options they weren't aware of before. Students commented that it helped them as they realised what they need to study and the grades they must achieve to pursue the career they want and it gave them a better overview of their options.
