HARLEQUINS RUGBY F.C. 'SWITCH' PROJECT

On Wednesday 6th June, Sunbury Manor had Kirsty Openshaw join us from Harlequins Rugby FC to deliver a rugby session as part of the girls' project entitled ‘SWITCH’. The project aims to engage as many girls in schools and the community and help inspire and empower them through sport/Rugby.

The hour long session gave the thirty year 7 and 8 students an introduction to the game. They all made huge progress and learnt a variety of new skills. The girls absolutely loved the session and learnt so much in just an hour. Kirsty commented on the girls' enthusiasm, behaviour, engagement and said she thoroughly enjoyed taking the session here.

Harlequins will be back in school from Wednesday 20th June to run an after-school Rugby Club every Wednesday until the end of term. The club is open to all year 7, 8 and 9 girls to take part. We hope to see lots of students there!
