YR9 ARE AGAIN DISTRICT CHAMPIONS!

Sunbury Manor's year 9 Rugby 7's team have, for the second year running, won the District competition . The boys beat Bishop Wand in the final by two points in a pulsating game.

Team captain Donald Mashanda said:

"The team played really well as we got off to a great start dominating against good opposition, Thamesmead and Magna Carta, in the group stage. We created great runs, made strong defensive tackles and kept consistency. It then came time to play the hosts themselves, Bishop Wand, in the group stages and it was a challenging match. The team then had to go face to face with Bishop Wand in the final, thankfully we emerged the victors, the team put in an awesome performance to secure the win by 2 points - it was an intense game that we were all determined to win. The whole team put in maximum effort and fought hard for a great win against worthy opponents. The rugby team played to a great standard and to their best their ability, it was a deserved win for the Yr9 rugby 7's team."
