Posted on: 17/12/2021Duke of Edinburgh AwardsThis term almost half of our Year 9 students have signed up to complete their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. The award gets students volunteering and helping in the community, learning a new skill and sport and working as a team to complete their camping and walking expedition. Training for the expedition will be starting next term and we look forward to seeing the students tackle these new tasks.
Posted on: 17/12/2021A Taste of Spain Comes to Year 8Over the last couple of weeks, all year 8 classes have enjoyed some Spanish tapas tasting. Their topic in class this term has been food and drink and they finally got the chance to taste some of the dishes they have been learning about. The food was very popular, with many students returning for seconds and some commenting that they want to have more of some dishes at home. The dishes available were Spanish olives, manchego cheese, jamón serrano (cured ham), tortilla española (traditional potato omelette), chorizo al vino (chorizo fried in red wine) and paella. All dishes were bought from the supermarket – so those who want more don’t have to search too far!
