GCSE POETRY LIVE

The Year 10 students had a fantastic opportunity to visit the Apollo Victoria Theatre on Friday 29th November to watch poetry performances, and take part in workshops, aimed at helping consolidate their understanding of poems as well as preparing them for the poetry element of their GCSE English Literature exam. 

The students were excited to listen to exhilarating poetry readings from Simon Armitage, Gillian Clarke, John Agard, Carol Ann Duffy, Imtiaz Dharker, Daljit Nagra & Owen Sheers.  Following this, the workshops looked at how they might deal with unseen poems in the exam, both how to think about them and how to write for their best possible results.
