Year 11 6-a-Side Football Champions

This years, year 11 girls’ 6-a-side football tournament was highly anticipated as it was their last and they were going in as current holders. The girls were up for the occasion and ready to defend their title. They started positively and dominated in all 3 games, not conceding a single goal. The girls looked strong in both defence and attack, were keeping possession, creating chances and playing some great football.

We went into the final as firm favourites after some impressive football in the group stages. For the third year in a row, we met Bishop Wand in the final and the pressure was on to get ahead early. We had some great chances and managed to score an early goal which settled the pre match nerves. We continued to dominate the final, but weren’t able to get another goal despite the girls best efforts. The final whistle came and the game finished 1-0, with SMS being crowned District Champions once again!
