Year 7 Professional Rugby Player Visit

On Tuesday 24th September, a professional rugby player by the name of Delon Armitage came into school to deliver a careers talk to fifty Year 7 students. The students learnt about the hard work, commitment and dedication it takes to make it to a professional level, as well as the day to day life of an athlete including the training, video analysis, meetings and diet. They heard first-hand what the best parts of being a professional are and some of the setbacks you have to face.  Students really enjoyed the talk and had some of the following comments to make:

“I enjoyed him telling us about his career and what he had to do to get there”.

“I enjoyed that he taught me new things about rugby”.

“I learnt that you don’t have to be the best to get to be a professional, you just have to work hard”.

“I learnt just to never give up and you will succeed later in life”.
