BTEC Sports trip to Surrey Outdoor Learning Centre

On Wednesday the 1st and 8th October both BTEC Sports Studies attended the Surrey Outdoor Learning Centre at High Ashurst. This trip was a compulsory part of the course and important for them to complete the Outdoor Adventurous Activities section of the coursework.  

On both days students were split into two groups. While one group went off mountain biking the other participated in the high ropes activity. All the students had a fantastic time. During the day students had to do some research into how to organise the activities, look in depth at the safety requirements for both activities and how to create a full and detailed risk assessment.

Luckily, there were no serious injuries from the mountain biking - even if there were a few memorable crashes.
