District Cross Country
Fixtures Update Term
This term the PE department have participated within the district competitions and tournaments and as always in true Sunbury Manor School style tried their hardest and shown their dedication to their teams and training.
Our school football teams have been attending the district competitions and competition against all the other schools within the district. There was some tough competition in the tournaments but as always, our students worked well as a team and preserved even when the games became a challenge. Well done to the Year 8 boys who made it all the way to the final and in the end finished runners up but as always, they did not let this get them down as they continue to show up to Fun Friday and train with Mr Sanderson. Year 7 boys finished second within their group and the Year 7 girls finished high up in their group stages. Year 10 boys had a league game against St Pauls and they walked away with a great result winning 4-0.
On a cold November 25th 76 students from across all year groups walked down to Hazelwood Centre to compete in the District Cross Country Competition. It was a rather cold day but this did not dampen our spirits and the students showed the rest of the district that they were ready to compete. Each year group consisted of a boys and girls team. Our students were supportive of one another showed great sportsmanship. As the students finished there were some rather muddy legs appearing across the line but lots of smiles and laughs were had by all.
Overall Sunbury Manor School finished 4th within the district and individually we had some great results. Year 8 and 11 boys finished 3rd overall. Year 10 boys finished 2nd overall. Year 9 and 10 girls finished 4th overall. The following students all finished within the top 10 of their year groups. Sam (Year 11) and Sadie (Year 9) finished in first place. Alec (Year 10) and Lilly (Year 8) finished second in both their races. Zach (Year 10) and Derrick (Year 9) finished 4th. Billy (Year 9) finished 5th and Zack (Year 8) finished 7th. Congratulations to all the students who came out in the cold and participated and represented Sunbury Manor School.
