Year 8 BMW PGA Championship Trip

On Wednesday 10th September, 14 students from Year 8 were given the opportunity to go and experience a new sport and see some of their sporting heroes at the 2025 BMW PGA Championship Pro AM day. There was a large number of celebrities including: Lando Norris, Robbie Fowler, Steph Houghton and Andy Murray, who paired up with the professional golfers for a fun round at Wentworth Golf Club. The day consisted of a lot of rain, and some sunshine too, but in between all this the students enjoyed their time watching the celebrities play golf, and also had the opportunity to ask Miss Gregory lots of questions putting her own golf knowledge to the test.

During the day, we took the opportunity to head up to the clubhouse where all the celebrities and professional golfers were getting ready and heading out to play their round. At this time, the students were able to take pictures and selfies with the celebrities. It was great to hear many members of the public complementing our students on how polite they were, and that it was nice seeing them show an interest in a new sport that some had not experienced before.
