So long, farewell and thank you to Mrs Duncan!

20 years, 240 months, 1040 weeks, 7300 days!

After 20 years as Headteacher at Sunbury Manor School it is now time for Louise Duncan to hang up her hat, take early retirement and enjoy a well-earned rest.

When Mrs Duncan arrived here all that time ago, she did not expect to stay so long; In Mrs Duncan’s words, ‘I only came for 3 years but SMS really gets under your skin’. I am sure you will agree with the staff of Sunbury Manor when we say, we are so glad she stayed!

Mrs Duncan’s services to the school community have been immense. Any member of the community who walks past the school in the morning or afternoon will know her, with many regularly stopping for a chat. She has been a headteacher, mentor, advisor, confidante (the list goes on) to over 4000 students, she has created a safe school environment where students grow and flourish into mature young people.

She has greeted every child every morning with a welcome good morning and a huge smile - something SMS will miss enormously!

Please join the staff of Sunbury Manor in wishing Louise Duncan an incredible early retirement, a well-earned rest and many best wishes for the future.

Thank you, Mrs Duncan, you will be missed!
