Loan Laptop Scheme
Sunbury Manor School is very aware that many students may not have access to a digital device to access the remote learning during the school closure period. We have tried to offer a blended learning solution allowing students to complete tasks without being reliant on having a digital device. We have also tried to offer some pre-recorded lessons that can be accessed at any point during the day, making it significantly easier where families are sharing a digital device between children.
The school has decided to use Microsoft Teams as a mechanism to deliver live support sessions as this can be accessed on a range of digital devices - mobile phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, PlayStations and XBoxes.
We have continued to use the Show My Homework platform to provide work that can be accessed on a variety of devices.
The school has now received 88 loan laptops from the Department for Education that we are able to distribute to families in most need.
The allocation of laptops will be prioritised as follows:
Students that are in entitled to Free School Meals
Students that receive Pupil Premium Funding
Students in Year 10 & 11 (examination years)
If your child does not have access to a digital device please complete the form below by 4pm on 14th January to make a request.
Please only request a digital device if you are in genuine need. The school has 199 students entitled to free school meals and 270 pupil premium students.
The school has already issued over 30 Chromebooks and will do everything possible to request further laptops from the Department for Education if required.
All loan laptops must be returned to the school when we reopen for face-to-face schooling.
