Duke of Edinburgh

This term, the Year 9 students have been taking part in weekly training in their teams in preparation for their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition, which will be taking place in early May. 

This will include hiking, using a map, cooking their own dinner and overnight camping! A big thank you in advance to all staff who are assisting with all stages of this adventure for the students.

Throughout the entire experience, our students have shown great respect to the volunteers and trainers provided by the Phoenix Project, a lot of whom are students from local schools or colleges who are completing their silver and gold Duke  of Edinburgh awards. It has been really lovely to see them in this environment, and all the teams should be very proud of the skills they have learnt, and their representation of the school in the community.
