SKI TRIP AUSTRIA 2020

On Thursday 13th February, 59 students and 9 teachers departed for the slopes of Austria for a week of skiing.  The students and teachers alike were super excited as they boarded the very plush double decker coach, which took us to and from our destination.

On arrival, and after settling into the hotel, it was time to gain our first glimpse of snow with a visit to the Ski Shop to get kitted out with our skis and boots.  Following a lovely evening meal, a good night’s sleep ensured we were recharged and ready for our first day of skiing.

Whether you had skied before, or were a complete beginner, the progression and confidence that built in everyone, day by day, was immense.  A huge thank you goes to all the ski instructors who took the confident skiers on the most amazing red and black runs across the mountains, but also guided and taught the beginners with great patience to ensure their techniques and skills grew throughout the week.

We were lucky to have a mixture of wonderful weather – bright sunny days allowed us to lunch in the open air, overlooking the most incredible mountain range, and snowy days gave us the opportunity to ski and enjoy the beautiful snowfall.

Skiing wasn’t the only thing staff and students enjoyed during the trip. The highly anticipated annual ski trip quiz was well received, with top-notch humour and many laughs throughout the evening and a delightful tour around the pretty town of Bad Ischl on a horse drawn carriage was enjoyed by all.  Finally, a night at the bowling alley and mini golf centre went down a treat.

All the students and staff had a fantastic week in Austria; it was a hugely successful trip and lots of fun.
