CAREERS FLORIST VISIT

On Monday 11th November, a florist from Daisy Chain Florist in Shepperton visited the school to speak to 26 Year 7 students about their profession. The florist gave the students a more detailed understanding of the day to day work of a florist, their busiest periods of the year (such as Christmas, Valentines Day and Mother’s Day), working hours, salary and pathways into the profession.

Students also learnt about the Wholesalers role in the florist industry as well as the different products that can be made from flowers, not just bouquets but different products for weddings and the extremely creative designs at the Chelsea Flower Show.  Student comments below:

"I enjoyed looking at the flowers the florist had made and listening to her story"

"I enjoyed listening about the things she does at work every day"

"I learnt that if you work hard and put in the effort you will do well"

"I learnt that if you own your own business you will earn more money"

"I learnt that there are many different things you can do as a florist like the Chelsea flower show and weddings"
