CATASTROPHE ON CAMPUS

Recently, some of our Year 10s took part in ‘Catastrophe on Campus’, an exciting and interactive experience hosted by the University of Surrey to highlight the many different avenues open to university students. The programme, which began in October, took place every other Saturday at the university; at the end of the programme the students took part in a graduation ceremony to celebrate their achievements. Daisy Gunstone and Ellie-Rose Richardson explained how the experience gave them an insight into university life and why they would recommend it to other students.

“It’s been really fun trying out lots of different subjects. We worked with lots of new technology and in the forensics activities we even had to try to solve a pretend crime scene and work out how and why an explosion happened.” Ellie-Rose Richardson

“I’ve learned a lot about the courses you can do at university because of ‘Catastrophe on Campus’. We got to meet other people our age and build on our teamwork skills, so it’s helped me to grow in confidence and start thinking about what I want to do when I finish school.” Daisy Gunstone
