BIOLOGY WEEK 2016 REPORT

This event proved a huge success as pupils from all years were asked to consider what can we do to help our planet cope with the ever expanding human population?

In Biology pupils designed recipes promoting eating insects, in Art they drew images of these recipes and in Life Skills they produced arguments outlining the social, economic and health benefits of adding insects to our diet. Tutor time was also an opportunity for staff and pupils alike to discuss their opinions. It was really difficult to choose from over 400 entries, so we selected 2 winners and several that were highly commended. The results are as follows:

Recipe design winner:

Jake Newton

Highly Commended:

Alex Beard, Sammy Knight, Harry Bale

Poster to promote eating insects winner:

Aimee Andreas- Evans

Highly Commended:

Kiya Pankhania, Holly Davidson, Maddie Smith, Alex Beard, Jana Nemiri, Bradley Gold

Both winners get £25 as vouchers, and all those listed above received certificates as well as having their work displayed on the Biology board.  Special congratulations need to go to Alex Beard who was highly commended for both his entries.
