BROOKLANDS RADIO

As part of the Citizenship GCSE, students are required to undertake a Citizenship Action Project. Two groups of students decided to raise awareness of their chosen subject by presenting it live on Brooklands Radio.

One group held an on-air debate of the pros and cons of lowering the voting age to 16, whilst the other group raised awareness of the jobs on offer within the UK justice system.

This was an excellent chance for our students to develop the important skills of carrying out primary and secondary research, working as part of a team and delivering a real action project to improve society for all.  Other Citizenship actions carried out across the school involved students teaching KS3 lessons, delivering assemblies and attending meetings with Mrs Duncan, Headteacher, to pitch ideas to improve the school.
