RHS WISLEY

Sunbury Manor has been lucky enough to visit RHS Wisley twice this month.

On 1st November, some of our Year 8 students visited RHS Wisley for an ‘Introducing Green Plants’ workshop.  The main objectives were to observe how different habitats (woodland, tropical and arid) support different plants and to measure their environmental factors.

The second trip on 29th November was a Christmas workshop.  This was a reward trip where students were nominated by their tutors for doing something particularly outstanding.

The selected Year 8 students took part in a number of different activites: they baked mince pies, made Christmas cards and made their own Christmas wreaths from scratch. They also learnt about the different foliage that makes wreaths and the different varieties of Christmas trees.

When they were full of mince pies, they went for a stroll around the gardens before returning to school.
