Esher College Computing Masterclass

On 31st January, twelve Year 10 students visited Esher College for a Computing Masterclass.  Students were tasked with building a Robot Car Kit using an Arduino board and then programming the robot to race around an obstacle course.

Starting with a box of bits our students were quick to find the instructions on the laptop and by watching videos were able to piece together all the components, joining them to the Arduino board to build the Robot Car.  They were then able to start programming and testing the Robot Car to race it around a question mark shaped obstacle course.  This fun opportunity gave our students the chance to develop their practical problem-solving skills while building the Robot Car, as well as the opportunity to try out a different programming language.

Well done to all our students for being so resilient and getting fully involved in the activity.
