Support and Challenge

The school seeks to provide support and challenge for the raising of expectations. We aim to provide a range of opportunities that ensure the maximum development of our students’ intellectual, practical and physical potential.

Our gifted and talented students are identified on entry to the school and this information is shared with all teaching staff. We recognise that students’ gifts and talents can develop at different ages for different students, and so the register is a fluid document updated each and every year. The progress of this group of students is monitored very closely by the Head of Year to ensure that each individual is kept on track to reach the aspirational targets they have been set.

The Deputy Heads of Year work with external providers and universities who offer extra-curricular opportunities designed to open the eyes of able students to the possible pathways that lie ahead. Highlights include Windsor Racecourse, ATP Tennis, The Big Bang Fair, Royal Holloway University London, Oxford University and Surrey University.

The inclusive nature of Sunbury Manor means that we welcome students of all abilities, including those with physical disabilities. Whilst providing all students with the support they need to learn, we are also fully committed to ensuring that they are challenged to do the very best that they can academically.  With a fully accessible building, adapted mini bus and Learning Support Faculty housed in the main building, we successfully integrate all students into the life of the school.
