IET FARADAY CHALLENGE DAY
On Tuesday 27th November, six students visited Notre Dame School in Cobham to take part in the annual IET Faraday Challenge. This is an engineering-based competition for schools where they compete against one another to see who can design, create and promote the best solution to a given challenge. The challenge was to work as a team to design and build something that would aid the James Webb Space Telescope.
Each team had to deliver a presentation to the other teams explaining how their design would be of benefit to the space programme; they were then asked to think about how and if their design could be improved.
The challenge gave students an insight into real-life engineering problems and we hope they can use the day to help reinforce learning from Science, Maths and Design &Technology lessons, whilst demonstrating creativity, innovation, team working and presentation skills.
The students who took part were Grace Rattenbury, Megan Neall, Elliot Ancell, Mitchell Robinson, Reagan James and Malgorzata Urbas.
