RUGBY AT THE STOOP

On 2nd November, girls from Year 7 and 8 went to the Harlequin Stoop to train with the All Blacks and Harlequins teams.  On the trip, we got to train on the pitch where many famous teams had played and trained before, including Harlequins Ladies.

We were invited to take part in the Harlequins’ Festival to encourage girls our age to start playing rugby at clubs and in school.

In addition, we were able to have a tour around the changing rooms and the physiotherapy room; it was really interesting hearing about what they do in the changing rooms and how they prepare for a game.

The two players that helped us train were Abbie Scott (England player) and Joe Moody (All Blacks player) and during the training they commented on what was going well and what we could improve on - this really helped boost our confidence and passion for rugby. We then started playing beside them and embraced the challenge of trying to beat two established rugby players!

We got to have our photo taken with the players; with that our day ended and we headed back to school.
